Full Kitchen + Pantry Refresh in Los Angeles.

Just wrapped a 1.5 day full kitchen in the cutest house up in LA. The couple recently moved in and was excited to have everything put away yet easily accessible. As avid cooks, the kitchen is an important room that would help them feel even that much more settled.

An organized kitchen combines both objectively needed spaces (place for glassware, utensils, ) with spaces customized for how this client wants to use their space (coffee cabinet, small appliance storage). And clear counters.

Consult - The Supply by Kara process begins with a consult to understand the space, photograph, and measure. During this time, the client completes the Master Grocery List, Master Kitchenware List, and Questionnaire. At Supply by Kara, we strongly believe it is not enough to simply organize the items a client currently has in stock but to ask and take note of what their ideal kitchen has in stock, both food items and kitchen tools, and building a system around that.

Process - Remove Everything, Sort, Clean Surfaces, Draft locations using post-its (keeping in mind function and space-planning, like a life-sized puzzle), Return items including organizational products, Label.

Quick Tips for Kitchen Organization -

1) Every kitchen needs a utensil drawer, spot for glassware, spot for plates and bowls, spot for cans, spot for snacks, spot for dried goods, spot for spices, etc. Keep this in mind if you feel overwhelmed by stuff.

2) I recommend a drawer near the sink full of rolled kitchen towels to limit paper towel use.

3) Use a round tray or wooden pedestal on the counter to contain salt/pepper, oil, wooden spoons, etc. It’s both beautiful and functional.
