Terms of Service

General:

Supply by Kara LLC is acting as a Personal Chef making meals for one client at a time. Kara will collaborate with you, the client, on a curated postpartum menu based on the information provided in your client questionnaire and consultation within the parameters of the Supply by Kara method - including Bone Broth, Meat Soup, Vegetable Soup, Stand-Alone Protein, Fruit Loaf, Warming Milks. Deviation from the categories subject to approval and may result in cost changes. For quality control purposes, Kara asks that the client/chef correspondence be in writing via email or text. Menu planning, correspondence, and the sourcing of ingredients are included in the package cost. Kara sources organic ingredients, and local/sustainable where possible. Please inform her if you have store/market preferences.

Cancellations:

If cancellation is desired after the first invoice, 75% of payment shall be returned to Client so long as groceries have not been purchased and cooking has not commenced. Cancellation is not possible once groceries have been purchased and/or cooking has commenced.

Food Safety and Freezer:
Meals will be packaged and supplied frozen with suggested heating and serving instructions for your convenience. Client acknowledges that Supply by Kara is acting as a drop-off personal chef and meals are cooked in a home kitchen, not commercial kitchen. Meals are not suitable for resale. Supply by Kara is not to be held liable if you choose to ignore common food safety practices by not storing, defrosting, reheating or using proper sanitation in regards to your meals. Client responsible for ensuring enough freezer space in their home. Supply by Kara, LLC offers chest freezer monthly rentals at $75/mo. After five (5) months of freezer rental, the Client may keep the freezer for no additional charge, if desired. Client will be charged for the cost difference between the retail cost of the freezer minus rental charges paid if the freezer is damaged and/or broken from misuse. Any relevant freezer charges will be invoiced.

Invoices and Accepted Payment Options:
Invoices are sent from Supply by Kara, LLC through Square Invoicing via email after the service date. A penalty of five dollars ($5) per day will be applied to all invoices outstanding after one (1) week following the conclusion of an event. Accounts not paid within thirty (30) days are referred to an attorney or collection agency for collection. ACH payment through Square Invoicing is the preferred form of payment. Supply by Kara, LLC accepts all major credit cards. She does not accept Venmo, PayPal or Stripe payments at this time. First invoice of 50% of total package cost is due up front once the menu has been decided. 50% (the remaining cost) is due once the package is delivered. Delivery is free for drop-offs within 20 miles of San Mateo (94404). For greater distances, a delivery fee of $10 for each additional 10 miles will be added to the invoice.
